Riding West

It’s not every day that a man comes along and is the perfect subject to photograph; include in some paintings along with; his ranch life and surroundings.  Whether he is riding a tractor, a horse or a Harley, the subject is appealing to the Artists’ eyes.  Such events as branding, moving cattle to and from fields and the county lease, working in the field or just sitting, gazing at something in the distance, wearing his beat up old brown hat with sweat marks on the brim, a half broken pheasant feather create an easy target for my photography and paintings.

In studying the human figure, his is everything an artist could ask for and I am lucky to have known him for the past 45 years.

For all those who know him, they will recognize him from his length of his hair, the hat and the way he sits in the saddle .
